Carol Freeman is certified as an Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2004. Carol attended the University of Texas Health Science center to earn her Masters in Public Health in 1989 and her Bachelors in nursing by the University of Texas in Austin in 1979.
Additionally, Carol is certified as a Certified Nurse Midwife by the American College of Nurse-Midwives after completing the Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwifery program at the University of California in San Diego in 1984. Currently she is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
She worked as a CNM attending home births in Wimberley and Blanco Texas for 5 years until she and her family moved to Washington. There she attended hospital deliveries and assisted with training of Family Medicine residents in OB. She later moved to Molokai, Hawaii to work at the local hospital for 3 years. Carol then transferred to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital where she and her family lived for 10 years until moving back to their home in the Dripping Springs/Henly area in 2006.
She has been helping clients in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, and Women's health at both Lewis Family Medicine sites in Dripping Springs and Austin since 2017. She enjoys rural living, travel, trail riding her horses, refurnishing furniture and working in the yard.
